Adventure in New Zealand's Fiordland

Afternoon free, maybe short walk around Te Anau lake or glowworm caves if you want something easy. Or just chill, recover from the day.

Day 3: Short Trek and Heading Out
Morning: Hit part of the Kepler Track, one of the great walks but you can do day sections. From Te Anau, shuttle to start, hike up to Moturau Hut or Luxmore for views over lakes and fiords. Forest to alpine, maybe 4-6 hours round trip depending on how far you push, rewarding without full commitment.

Lunch with a view, then head back, drive to Queenstown for flight home or extend if you can.

Must-See Attractions
Milford Sound kayak or cruise, absolute must. Doubtful Sound for that remote feel. Kepler Track sections. Bowen Falls up close from water. Seal rocks everywhere.

Hidden Gems
Key Summit on Routeburn Track if you swap a day, shorter hike huge payoff. Lake Gunn nature walk, quiet forest loop with birds. Helicopter flip over the fiords if budget allows, changes everything. Lesser kayaked bays in Milford if you go early.

Travel Tips
Book kayaks and cruises ahead, they sell out. Pack waterproof everything, rain gear, layers. Sandflies bite, bring repellent. Drive careful, roads windy. Food options limited in fiords, pack snacks. Mid range budget, tours add up but worth it. Fitness needed for paddling and hikes, but guides help. Summer best but shoulder seasons quieter.

Three days here and you'll be buzzing, already scheming a longer return. Fiordland just grabs you like that, pure wild energy. Get out there!
