Day 2: More Exploring and Chill Spots
Breakfast with stroopwafels and strong coffee, fuel up.
Morning: Bike to Vondelpark, big green space in the city, watch locals jog or picnic even in cooler weather. Loop around, maybe detour to Albert Cuyp market for fresh stroopwafels or cheese samples.
Then north to the Nine Streets area, cute boutiques, vintage shops, independent coffee spots. Grab lunch at a sandwich place or falafel joint.
Afternoon: If you skipped one yesterday, squeeze in another museum, maybe the modern one at Stedelijk or something quirky like the tulip museum if you want lighter. Or just free-wheel, bike to Oost for edgier vibes or back through central for people-watching.
End with another short cruise if you loved the first, different light in the afternoon. Or rent a pedal boat yourself for laughs.
Head out evening train or flight, feeling like you actually saw the city proper.
Must-See Attractions
The major art museum with Dutch masters. Van Gogh collection. Anne Frank House. Canal cruise, any company really. Vondelpark on a sunny day. Jordaan streets.
Hidden Gems
Noord side across the free ferry, less touristy, street art, cool hangars turned breweries. Begijnhof, quiet courtyard hidden in center. Little pancake houses tucked away. Bike routes along Amstel river out a bit for windmills if you extend a ride.
Travel Tips
Book museum tickets online weeks ahead, seriously. Bike careful, trams have right of way. OV-chipkaart for trams or just rent bikes. Stay dry, rain pops up fast, poncho handy. Weed coffeeshops if curious but know limits. Food cheap to fancy, markets best value. English everywhere, super easy.
